Vesanto Melina, M.S., R.D. is co-author of “Plant -Powered Protein” (which reached #1 onamazon.com for sustainability), of the “Kick Diabetes Cookbook” (which is used in New York Hospitals) and of the award winning “Becoming Vegan: Comprehensive Edition” (which is a textbook in the U.S., Canada and Taiwan), (all with Brenda Davis). Their books are in 10 languages, regarded as the classics on plant-based nutrition and they also co-authored “Becoming Vegetarian”, “Becoming Raw”, and “Becoming Vegan”.
Vesanto is lead author of the last position paper on VegetarianNutrition for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. She is an internationally known speaker, having spoken in 10 countries. She received a Lifetime Achievement Award and the prestigious Clintec award for leadership in dietetics. She regularly consults for individual clients. To complement her scientific expertise is Vesanto’s joy in creating food that is healthy, delicious and simple to prepare.
